Tirthan Valley is named after river Tirthan. This beautiful river originates from icy glacier springs of Tirath Hanskund which is a pilgrimage site for local villagers too. Tirthan river is only heritage river of Himachal Pradesh with no dam or power project can be built on it’s stream and that’s the reason for it’s crystal clear water throughout year. The most preferred stay options(including home stays) here are riverside cottages located in Gushaini, Banjar or Nagni.


This quite valley is well kept secret for fishing. The crystal clear glacier water in the river is a home to the Trout fish where you can enjoy its fresh catch and barbecue. You need to take care Fishing season is from March to October. You can sit on the rocks right in the middle of the river Tirthan which makes angling much easier and delightful. Some properties also do fish farming where again you can enjoy your fresh catch.
