Centrally Located Sarvana Bhawan is one of the most authentic South Indian Restaurants in Delhi. Situated in the heart of city, Connaught Place, running since 2003 this place serves the best dosas, idlis, vada and specially to mention the filter coffee. This place is a quality food beckon to the energetic crowds including tourists. It is perfectly accessible to enjoy your most authentic South Indian Feast. The footfall is spectacular here and one need to wait for at least 15-20 mins in peak hours.
Ambiance is properly lit and clean. With all the South Indian staff well known about the dishes and recipes, service is extremely good and will leave you with no compliant. But no matter the ambiance, staff is certain to leave you contentedly well fed. They have two floors and you will be seated as per the availability.
The food here is generously spiced and brimming with the most incredible chutneys in city. Not so expensive they offer a wide variety of Dosas which are one of the best in city and served on banana leaves in a traditional way. To begin with our culinary tour we ordered some Idli Vada Platter which was served beautifully when we anticipated it the most. The Idli was very soft and tender to eat while the vada was upto the mark. We expected a little more tangy sambhar, otherwise fine. Chutneys were something we loved the most specially the Tomato Chutney.
Served with their fixed set of three chutneys Butter Masala Roast Dosa was so delicious. The masala in the crispy dosa was widely and equally spread all over unlike dosas at other places where masala is just filled at the center, this is the thing we liked the most in this dosa. The chutneys are again yummylicious and sambhar requires to me little more tangy. We loved the dosa anyways. Sarvana Bhawan is a mastere the art of the dosa and its accompanying chutneys.
Filter Coffee here is a must have post your meal.
There are many other South Indian delicacies to lure upon like Rasam, Curd Rice, South Indian Thali etc. We loved almost everything here, be it their service or food. A must must must visit place for evert Delhite.
